“Girl in Brown” is an original, signed acrylic painting on a gallery wrapped canvas by artist Michael Arnold.

I like painting people with interesting faces or in an unusual context. The young girl in this painting looks a bit apprehensive as she glances over her shoulder while embarking on her journey, which looks ominous. The road that leads to where? We don’t know. The dead tree? Is it that death awaits at the end of the journey? I used only yellow oxide and burnt umber to create this artwork. The somber earth tones add to the mystery of the painting.
